The Board Member Affirmation process allows boards to review the responsibilities of a board member. A signed affirmation lets the board member declare their readiness to fulfill these responsibilities. In readiness to complete this imporatnt step, board members are invited to reflect and self-evaluate their participation in the prior year. Naturally, when a board member concludes they are unable to pledge their commitment for the upcoming year, this (unsigned) form offers an opportunity to convey their readiness to withdraw from service honorably. Your mission deserves a full-hearted response from each board member. It is recommended this proess be vested with ritual celebration and solemn ceremony, so that boards have a better chance of gaining a deeper emotional connection with its membership.
